Will students play at school?
Our programme is based on a belief that we learn when we play. Students have opportunities for structured and unstructured play at school. Play is used as a tool to support academic learning, social-emotional and developmental growth.
“Play allows children to use their creativity while developing their imagination, dexterity, and physical, cognitive, and emotional strength. Play is important to healthy brain development. It is through play that children at a very early age engage and interact in the world around them.” - American Academy of Pediatrics.
Learning in Khám Phá
Our Khám Phá teaching and learning program is underpinned by the curriculum standards outlined in the Creative Curriculum for Pre-school ® and is designed using the framework of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP).
Khám Phá learning space provides students the opportunity to choose activities within the units of inquiry to build on their curiosities and interests. Students are encouraged to think, inquire, communicate, and care. They also practice being open-minded, balanced, principled, knowledgeable and to take risks. All while interacting with their peers and teachers in a fun and safe environment!
Areas of learning
In addition to the core subjects of Literacy, Math, Science, and Social Studies, Khám Phá also focuses on gross and fine motor development, personal and social development, creativity and exploration, problem solving, and independence.
Students also participate in Vietnamese language and culture, Music, Art and P.E which are all integrated into their daily learning activities.
