Last Friday, October 30, 2009, AIS Elementary students celebrated Halloween, an annual holiday in western countries. Halloween decorations were put around the school such as the Jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, and witches riding on brooms.

All students were very excited because they could wear costumes to school. They were dressed as witches and wizards, princess, or pirates of the Caribbean, and even, as ghosts, and other interesting characters. They were also joined by their teachers and school staff in the costume party.

The day ended with the Trick or Treat parade around the school. Every time students received the treats from the school staff, they had to say "Trick or Treat" - a common saying and a custom on this special day. The treats are usually sweets, however, this year it was decided to give them fruits to help them learn about healthy food. The students have been studying nutrition in Health classes.

Students enjoyed the Trick or Treat parade.

Students were encouraged to eat healthy food.
