Field trip to Cat Tien National Park for Grade 8 students

E-mail Print

Dear Parents,

Our Grade 8 teachers are very excited to offer a field trip to Cat Tien National Park (Dong Nai Province) as part of the Grade 8 curriculum.

What:

Students will participate in educational activities that highlight standards from many subjects including Language Arts, Social Studies, Life Sciences, Physical Education, Math, and Art. The activities will represent a substantial portion of the material covered for the quarter, so it is essential that all students attend. The activities will include a presentation of Cat Tien staff on Vietnam’s natural wildlife heritage, wilderness education through hiking, a cultural excursion to a minority village, team building activities at camp, a park clean-up highlighting ecology and sustainability, as well as many writing and drawing exercises.  The trip will be chaperoned by members of the AIS faculty.

When:

From March 05 to March 08, 2013 (see the itinerary attached)

Where:

Cat Tien National Park, Nam Cat Tien Commune, Tan Phu District, Dong Nai Province

Accommodation: Hotel at the National Park

Cost:

This cost will include entrance tickets, food, accommodation, transportation, and curriculum related material.

Buses will depart from AIS middle school at 08:30am on Tuesday, March 05, 2013; students should present at the school campus 15 minutes earlier. Buses will arrive at the school at 03:45pm on Friday, March 08, 2013; students will be required to arrange their own transport home.

Note: In case that the number of students is less than 30, the trip can be cancelled. We will replace it with other learning activities accordingly.

Please sign and return this letter and the fee to Front Office by Tuesday, February 19, 2013.

Thank you for your support and cooperation.

Best regards,

Vickie Swann

Assistant Principal
