AIS High School Diploma Track
To earn a high school diploma from American International School (AIS), a student must satisfy the following requirements:
- Complete at least 24 credits throughout the student's high school years, with preference for 28 or more units by the end of graduating year* Students must be enrolled in at least six (6) classes each academic year.
- Satisfy the required amount of credits for each category

Required credits must be fulfilled by the time of graduation in order to receive a diploma from American International School.
Two years of a foreign language is encouraged for all students.
INTERNATIONAL BACCALAREATE Diploma Track
The IB Diploma program is a 2 year program. Students taking the full IB Diploma Program choose six subjects, one from each of the six subject groups. Three subjects are studied at Higher Level and three are studied at Standard Level.

All students also:
- Take the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course
- Complete a CAS record reflecting on Creativity, Action and Service to IB Diploma standards
- Write a 4,000 word Extended Essay on a topic of their choice, under the guidance of a teacher-supervisor
Diploma Passing Criteria
To get an IB Diploma, a student must earn at least 28 Points although it is possible to pass with 24 points.
Students also need to avoid the following:
- A score of 1 in any subject
- A score of 2 Points in any Higher Level subject
- A score of 2 Points in all 3 of the Standard Level subjects
- A ‘Failing Condition’ in the TOK / Extended Essay Points Grid (please refer to the IB Handbook)
- Failure to submit CAS Diaries and /or complete Creativity, Action and Service as authenticated by the CAS Coordinator
- A student is found guilty of Malpractice as defined by the School Academic Honesty Policy
