AIS General Information American International School is a mid-sized international school in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, offering an American-based curriculum for grades K to 12. Our high school program includes the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB) and Advanced Placement Program (AP). The majority of our students are local. The school is currently an IB World School, an official member of CIS and is seeking accreditation from the Western Association of Colleges and Schools (WASC). Our general teacher-student ratio is 1:20. Majority of faculty are from Northern America, Canada, U.K. and a small number are from Vietnam and a few other countries. Compensation and Benefits An initial contract is offered for two years with competitive salary and benefits among international schools in Vietnam. Teaching staff will be placed on the appropriate step of the salary scale commensurate with their degrees/qualifications as well as full academic year work experience in a K-12 school setting. Salaries are paid in net terms (tax free) for a 12-month period during each academic year, resulting in a high saving potential. Salary ranges from USD24,000 to USD33,000 and benefits include housing allowance, settling allowance, health insurance, contract-end airfare, sick leave, personal leave, school holidays, summer holidays, and gratuity bonus and annual round-trip airfare for an extended contract, dependants’ benefits (tuition fee waiver for up to two children, airfare, health insurance, visa) and staff professional development opportunities. School Calendar New faculty report for a new school year on August 1 and the last day of school is generally on June 14.
